Amendment in gst registration certificate

A proprietorship firm registered earlier under VAT laws, has shifted his principal place of business. The name in the GST registration certificate needs to corrected becasue of spelling errors in VAT registration. Whether the amendment process has started? What docs are required for this corrcetion in name and change of place of business. Please advise.
