Advance tax is paid to the wrong assessment year
Sir, if income tax advance tax payment is wrongly paid to the wrong assessment year, can we correct it ? as we are correcting the TDS payment challans from one F.Y. year to the other F.Y.. kindly advice.

If you are not able to make request online for correction in challan then make an applicaito nto the Jurisdictional Assessing Officer to carry out correction.
Income Tax department has introduced a new functionality for “Challan Correction” on its e-filing portal. This new feature, accessible through the path Dashboard > Services > Challan Correction, allows taxpayers to make certain corrections to their challans related to Advance Tax, Self-Assessment Tax, and Demand Payment as Regular Assessment Tax, specifically for the Assessment Year (A.Y.) 2020-21 onwards.
