Vijay kumar book is best one.

But for ipcc, its better to refer icai material for accounting standards.

Better read NOTES ON ACCOUNTS part of a published Annual Report of a listed company to know the practical application of all the accounting standards.

Now read the book suggested by the experts. 

You will easily understand the Accounting Standards.

u can even refer to DS Rawat its really a good book to enhance & improve your knowledge on AS.

yeah.. the book by DS Rawat is really very good .. That's what I'm using..  :-)  The concepts are explained in a clear and concise way.

Another option : U can get MP Vijaykumar's book on AS... there are lots of flowcharts, diagrams in his book.  so u can understand the implications of all AS  quite easily..  It will also help u in remembering the concpets..

AGREED BOOKS AUTHORED BY D.S.RAWAT IS BEST BOOK FOR SUMMARIZED FORM OF AS WITH EXAMPLE.

accounting standards are very well explained with examples in study material provided by ICAI and also refer to compilation for past ca exam questions on accounting standards. and also refer study material and compilations of all subjects, these will help u lot in preparing for exams. This is my personal experience.

wel ds rawat is  by far the best bukk...............hav cum across!!,,,,,,,,,,,,every relevant point is described in a clear n concise manner...wit lots of unsolved n solved numericals..........wht more there r lots of case examples,...to help u excel n a thorough knowledge fr the topic.....................hmmm itz a very cheap buk az well.....hehe

Rawat is good only for revision. It is like watching a trailer of a movie. I hope you understand. Opt for MP Vijaykumar or Dolphy D Souza or Paduka's book. They have published separately for IPCC.

Merely looking at Annual Reports will not be of any great use. Most of the cases, they are very restrictive and also incorrect.

I suggest to refer V.K Agarwal book on Accounting standard.(A.S. Foundation-Pune,Maharashstra).Though I am not student of that class,I used the mentioned notes and found it very helpful for my self std.In that notes tree diagram and short points are given for easy and quick understanding espcially helpful for self std.It is my personal belief that the same is better than others.It short and sweet.You are also advised to solve all previous suggested answers on ASs from suggested answers and compilations(PEII) to check your exam oriented level of understanding.Hope the same will be useful to you.Have a good luck.

you can go for M.P.Vijaykumar's book of AS for IPCC and it is really good. it has good depth , easily understandable and covers past years questions asked in accounts and auditing paper and it is just 200 pages..
