I am doing articleship in jalandhar. Perviously me and my dad was living together here in jaladhar, My mother and my elder brother is living in mohali. They both are working there. Last month my father got expired and so i am alone here in jalanfdhar. So i want to shift to mohali. Do i get transfer on these grounds?

Yes, you can get a transfer provided as given in rules :-
articles shall not be registered
a) in the same city or
b) within 50 kilometers radius of the city where he/she has been underging articleship.
may god bestow him with heaven..... rules have changed... u can now take transfer for one time provided u r not serving last 12 months of articleship. in other words u cannot take transfer pending last 12 months of articleship

hey frds wait for 1-2 days the new president may allow 3 transfer without any resiction within the city if there will b no politics in the Icai. And our new president will b Mr. Chopra
