CMA Foundation Course

This is the first step towards becoming a successful CMA. The CMA Foundation exam is conducted twice a year in June and December. It comprises of the following papers:

Eligibility Criteria for the CMA Foundation Examination:
  1. Candidate should have passed Class 10 or equivalent from a recognized Board or Institution
  2. Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board or Institution
  3. Candidates appearing for the 10+2 examination in the current session are also eligible to apply for CMA Foundation
  4. Candidates who have qualified National Diploma in Commerce Examination by All India Council for Technical Education or State Board of Technical Education are also eligible to apply for the CMA Foundation Examination

Criteria for passing the CMA Foundation Examination

Students will be declared ‘pass’ if they obtain a minimum of 40% marks in each paper and a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate of all papers.


CMA Intermediate Course

Once the candidate has cleared the CMA Foundation examination he is promoted to the intermediate level. The CMA Inter exam is conducted twice a year in June and December. It comprises of the following papers:

Passed Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2) and Foundation Course of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India/ Graduation in any discipline other than Fine Arts/ Foundation (Entry Level) Part I Examination of CAT of the Institute/ Foundation (Entry Level) Part I Examination and Competency Level Part II Examination of CAT of the Institute
  2. Passed Foundation of ICSI/Intermediate of ICAI by whatever name called along with 10+2.

Criteria for passing the CMA Intermediate Examination

CMA FINAL Course:

This is the last step towards becoming a Cost Management Accountant. Candidates who have cleared the CMA Intermediate examination are eligible to sit for the CMA Final examination. The CMA Final exam is conducted twice a year in June and December. It comprises of the following papers:

FAQs on CMA Examinations


Q. Is the fee for any of the examinations refundable in case one does not wish to appear for the same?

Ans. No. Under no circumstances is the fee for the examination refundable whether the candidate appears for the exam or not.

Q. Are calculators allowed inside the examination hall?

Ans. Yes. Calculators are permitted inside the examination hall only when they are battery operated standard calculators. Scientific and digital calculators will not be allowed.

Q. Is there any minimum passing percentage in 10th class or 10+2 examination, in order to appear for any of the levels of the CMA Examinations?

Ans. No. There is no minimum passing percentage in either 10th class or 10+2 for appearing in any of the levels of the CMA Examination. However, the student must have cleared the examinations from a recognized board or institution. Candidates appearing for their 10+2 examination in the current year are also eligible to apply for the CMA Foundation Examination.
