I have a new client who files salary return due to some reason he has not file his income tax return for AY 2017-18...
is there option to file it
or any penalty occurs him for non filing of return ..
return status for AY 2017-18 is nil
pls suggest me

No option for filing ITR for AY 2017-18, except any refund due.......
Or any query from department.
Question of any penalty may arise only if any tax liability due; so better pay it off (without ITR)
