initial registration of ipcc

Hi dear people.

My IPCC exam is due this Nov '10. I think I'll go for one group as I have less time. But a doubt that I had is, I had registered for both the groups initially. Now in August we need to fill up our exam forms. In that do we get a choice to choose either one group or both? or would I have to compulsorily write both groups failing which my group 2 would be counted as a failed attempt?

To summarize- Is the initial registration done for IPCC, the parameter for counting your exam attempt, or the upcoming exam registration which is August '10 that will decide whether you have attempted group 2 or not?

Thanks a ton in advance.

No it is not compulsory to write both groups or chose both group option. You can apply for single group only.Their is no compulsion as such.
