Mission is standing on crutches with Vision |\/| whereas \/ision is on it’s own.

According to me vision is a prior word then mission. Based on your clear vision you can set or fix a mission in your life.

The word mission clarifies much more specific and definite approach and target in life.

For example the dream of serving country may be considered as vision of an individual and when that individual decides that he/she is going to serve country through joining armed forces, the purpose of joining army becomes mission of that individual.
