Ca as a paid assistant- tax issues

My question is If a CA is working in a CA firm as a paid assisstant, Whether the payment from CA is to be considered as salary or Professional Income.

03 May 2013 if the person are in full time employment the income will count in salary head.

14 June 2013 It depends on the terms and condition. If he is an employee then yes as any employee in service and it is to be treated as salary but if the terms are of the consultant then it is professional income.
