03 July 2008 Is there any law in Income tax which made to produce rent agreement is compulsory. Or employee can produce the rent receipts for any amount to claim fully HRA benefit.

03 July 2008 The policy says that you have to submit rent agreement too but hardly one can produce the rent agreement.

So i think one can produce only rent receipt of amount paid by him as a rent.
