19 March 2012 Yes u
can hold COP and work in a CA firm. Form 2 is quite user friendly. Apart from the personal details it ask for ur employment detailz in CA firm. Fill those details

19 March 2012 1.No,u can't hold COP and work in CA firm simultanuously.

2.u can hold COP only if u r acting as partner of that firm.

19 March 2012 Yes, you can hold COP. But, if you join as an employee then the status of you COP will become Part Time, which means you cant do any attest function. It is advisable to keep part time COP from right now if you are tinking of doing Practice in future because the date of COP does matter for any empannelment irrespective of its being Part time or Full time.

20 March 2012 I think Utsav is correct. You can join a CA firm as an employee in that case you cannot take COP. The alternative way of holding COP is that you work in a C.A firm as a consultant and whatever salary you are to receive to that extant you have to raise a bill on the C.A firm for professional services rendered to the clients of the C.A firm which can allow you to have your COP and the moment you are trained enough you can start your own practice or you can handle the clients of the C.A firm. So decide accordingly.
