Conversion of Partnership firm into Pvt ltd company

09 May 2008 A partnership firm was converted into Private limited company in 2005-06under chapter IX of company's act, 1956. MVAT Registration no. was taken for the erstwhile Partnership firm which was carried forward via ammendment for the company.
Will the company require new registration number ?
(The sales tax authorities are insisting for a new registration no. when the company approached them for the refund of sales tax.)

09 May 2008 when partnership firm converted in to pvt ltd it is transfer transfery case you will first give application to the sales tax office in this case you are not registered in the sales tax office you will take registration for pvt ltd co. and apply for condonation of delay to the joint commissione for condonation otherwise purchases set off is not available to you
