14 May 2013 R Seniors,

one of my friend filled his ITR Online for F.Y. 2011-12 and there is any typing error in his name. as we need to sumbit ITR to bank for loan perpose, does it make impact, and what to do as error is shown in ITR-V, can we get it corrected by resubmiting ITR or it is acceptable as address details and PAN no is correct. Apart from that details in Tax payment challan are also in line so can it be treated as clearical error by bank.

Please provide your sugessions.

16 May 2013 No problem. you can explain it to the bank, as the PAN and other details are same. However if it is to be corrected, then you have to file a revised return, if nor more than one year has passed after filing the revised return.

01 July 2013 The correction is to be done at the time of finalisation of the papers and the expert is very much correct.
