Eligibility for contribution to charitable trust for csr

09 February 2016 Respected Sir, one company to whome CSR applicable has made donation to the Charitable Trust of which one of additional director of that company is trustee in that company. The main purpose of that trust is only to carry charitable activities. Will this donation will be considered eligible as CSR contribution or not. Kindly reply & do needful.

22 February 2016 Contribution to Corpus of a Trust will qualify as CSR expenditure as long as
(a) Trusts is registered. “Registered Trust” means
➢ Registered with Registrar of Trust in the State.
➢ Where no Registrar of Trust in the State, Registered with IT Authority
(b) the Trust is created exclusively for undertaking CSR activities or
(b) where the corpus is created exclusively for a purpose directly relatable to a subject covered in Schedule VII of the Act.
