E-filing of itr for a.y. 2015-16

This query is : Resolved

20 April 2015 From A.Y.2015-16 a new system has been implemented by the I.T. Dept i.e. transmitting the data in the return electronically under electronic verification code. Does it mean we have to give the Aadhar No in the Return and the Dept will be verify the number electronically and it is not required submit the verification of the return in Form ITR-V to CPC, Bangalore by Speed Post.

20 April 2015 CBDT has introduced a new system of electronic verification code (EVC), where the assessee will not be required to send the ITR V to CPC.

How this system would work?

The procees will require the e-filer to register his Aadhaar number in the ITR after which the UIDAI database will send an OTP to the registered mobile number of the taxpayer which subsequently will have to be authenticated on the e-filing website.

If the assessee is not having Aadhar, he has to follow the same process by sending the ITR V to CPC, as followed earlier.
