Bifurcation of service tax

This query is : Resolved

26 March 2008 Whether service tax should be bifurcated in to
Service tax-
Edu. cess-
SHEC-

Plz what will be consequences if not shown seperately in invoice.

26 March 2008 As per the service tax rule you have to shown the tax and cess separately .
This is the general procedure and you have to complied with and i think tehre is penalty or anything for non following of this.

26 March 2008 I want to confirm whether education cess & SHEC both should also seperately shown.
One more thing tell whether there has been constituted any fund seperately for both.

Please confirm.

26 March 2008 YES EDUCATION CESS AND SECONDARY HIGHER EDUCATION CESS SHALL BE SHOWN SEPERATELY BEING BOTH ARE CESS BUT THE PURPOSE AND UTILISATION FOR WHICH THEY HAVE BEEN IMPOSED IS DIFFERENT

26 March 2008 Yes as both are different in nature
ED - education Cess
SHE - Secondary & Higher education cess

26 March 2008 Yes as both are different in nature
ED - education Cess
SHE - Secondary & Higher education cess

26 March 2008 Yes central govt has constituted separate fund for education cess as well as secondary & higher education cess therefore respective amount will be in respective fund.

26 March 2008 yes both Education cess and Secondary Higher education Cess has to be shown seperately in the invoice and both the above mentioned funds are different funds as the purpose for which they will be used by the govt is different.
