I would like to know the uses of tan and tin,
i except from you brief information for the tan, tin, vat,service tax,sales tax, tds and tcs,

21 November 2011 PAN- USED FOR INCOME TAX PURPOSE
TAN- USED FOR TDS/TCS PURPOSES
TIN- USED FOR VAT PURPOSES
STC- USED FOR SERVICE TAX PURPOSES

21 November 2011 TAN - TAX ACCOUNT NUMBER ISSUED BY INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT USED FOR INCOME TAX DEDUCTED AT SOURCE PURPOSE.

TIN- TAX IDENTIFICATION NUMBER - ISSUED BY THE COMMERCIAL TAXES DEPARTMENT - FOR VAT REGISTERED DEALERS.

VAT - VALUE ADDED TAX IS A TAX ON SALE OF GOODS

SERVICE TAX - IT IS A SERVICE TAX APPLICABLE FOR TAXABLE SERVICE PROVIDER

SALES TAX - TAX ON SALES

TDS - TAX DEDUCTED AT SOURCE

TCS - TAX COLLECTED AT SOURCE

21 November 2011 I don't have to answer this question as my friends have already did the job.

But, I did have a feeling that I am facing an examination when I read the question, esp. the way it has been asked...
