02 June 2012 I want to register for VAT in karnataka. I have main office at one place and few branches located at various district in karnataka. Which all documents of each branche are requuired for vat registration?

Now you can do VAT registration on-line.Just open up the web site http://www.ctax.kar.nic.in,click for registration and you will get the form 1. This is to be filled in detail and required documents asked for are to be uploaded. The documents generally required are for identification,partnership deed(for firms),articles of association for public/pvt companies,proof of ownership/renting of premises,bank a/c copy etc and photos of owner/partner/directors.On seeing your application, concerned office will call you or U go there and pay the fees. after that a CTI will visit your shop and file a report.On that basis a VAT regn certificate will be issued.With respect to each branch U have to furnish rent agreements,address etc.All the branches will be included in one certificate. U will have pay PT for each branch seperately....MJK

But With relate to the branches, Do i need to submit only address proof..?
And in ur reply, What is "PT"?

With regard to branches you have to give proof for renting of premises also. PT means Profession Tax.Further,you may be caled upon by the department to pay some amount as security deposit also depending on the volume of Ur business....MJK
