Is TDS deducted on printing material supplied by a printer? The printer charges VAT on the same.

19 January 2017 If it is customised printing than TDS is applicable u/s 194C, mere supply of stationery TDS not applicable.

19 January 2017 But I have heard that if VAT is charged, it should be regarded as a sale, and hence, TDS might not be applicable. Is it so? Just confirming.

19 January 2017 Printing and supply of stationery vat Charges Applicable, but printing amounts to contact. So 194C is applicable.
