Tds tax deducted at source means tax is deducted from the source of income .the income may be commission,interest etc.. This is applicable when the payment exceeds a specified limit
After you calculate the Total income you pay tax it is called self assessment rax
In advance tax you make an estimate of your tax liability in the PY and remit tax I hope it is clear
