26 February 2015 Yes TDS applicability in general depends on the payment or credit whichever is earlier. Further every section has it's own threshold limit, if transaction value crosses the threshold tds will required to be deducted.
Mode of payment whether cash or any is irrelevant for deduction of tax under Ch. XVII-B
