24 April 2014 Is there any limit to deduct tds in case of transportation charges when the amount paid is small?

24 April 2014 Hi Paresh,

TDS on transportation charges will come u/s 194C (contract payment) and limit is as under,

If total amount paid/ payable during the year exceeds Rs.75,000 or
single payment or bill exceed Rs.30000.

Rate of TDS,
If payee is Individual or HUF 1%
In all other cases 2%
