CLIENT HAS EARNED A EXEMPT INCOME ABROAD IN THE NATURE OF SALARY. HE IS ORDINARY RESIDENT IN THE PREVIOUS YEAR. DOES HE HAVE TO PAY INCOME TAX ON EXEMPT INCOME?

if he is R N OR then he needs to include this income in his s return as income from salary and it doesnt matter whether its exempted outside india or not.
Check for DTAA if in india its taxable or not, if there is no DTAA THEN its taxable in indai
