24 April 2017 Dear Experts, it has been STCG of 64890/- on sale of property. pls clarify weather this Gain of 64890 will be taxed @15% or it will be taxed slab wise i.e. 10% 20% 30% as applicable on assessee? Thanks & Regards VIPRA JAIN

24 April 2017 Only those Short term capital gains which arise on sale of listed securities (i.e securities on whose sale security transaction tax is charged) are taxable under section 111A @ 15%, other than that all short term capital gains are taxable slab wise.

Since in above scenario short term term capital gains arise from sale of property which don't comes under purview of listed securities hence STCG of Rs. 64,890 will be taxed slab wise.

I hope this will clear your query
