03 August 2015 I want to transfer some shares as security to another person via a book entry. Is it legal and valid?

05 August 2015 Yes, you can definitely do it. There is no restriction to it as far as you have the legal ownership of the Share and you have not entered in an agreement with anyone prohibiting you to do so.
