If the royalties are payable to you for patents, or if they are towards research fees for use of copyright then the same would be subject to Service Tax - Royalties under Intellectual Property Rights Services.
If the charges payable to you are in the nature of professional fees, then the same should be taxable under Consultancy Services.
The taxability depends on the nature of services rendered.
