Service tax on play ground given rent to a school

I want know that shall we charges Service Tax on Play ground given for rent to a School.

The School management is telling that All Educational Institutions are exempted form service tax rules in case of renting of immovable property. It is Correct?

11 August 2015 Yes, I am sure. This services are exempt from service tax vide mega exemption notification no. 25/2012-ST dated 20.06.2012 under sub clause 9(b) of this notification.

11 August 2015 See the budget 2014 amendment effective from 01/10/2014. Service tax on educational institutions modifications. The exemption has been withdrawn.
