i want to know the following questions?
i want to formed a pvt. ltd company and starts a business of "SOFTWARE" Manufacture in india and subsequently sale to other vendor/user.
pls suggest me , which tax is applicable on my first bill raised to the vendor /user.
EXAMPLE

tax invoice
ss company bros date 15/7/2014
add ,.hari nagar
phone 5852582

software for designing RS 25000
+TAX ?
TOTAL BILL DUE

24 July 2013 It depends upon the software. First of all you have to register yourself under your local VAT Act and start collect your state VAT, if applicable for software. Regarding Service Tax, first 10 lacs, you have an exemption.

In my opinion, software designing will not attract VAT and service tax will be applicable after 10 lacs. However, if you have trade mark for your company, 10 lac exemption is not available. Excise Duty will not come immediately.
