This query is : Resolved

26 May 2012 Sir,

We are the manufacturer and registered under excise. One of our customer who is exporter has issued us ct-1 for procurement of goods without excise.

We are dispatching goods to customers warehouse against ct-1 without payment of duty.

Can we despatch goods without payment of duty against ct-1 to warehouse of exporter

Please inform us what is the correct procedure.

29 May 2012 After execution of bond, merchant exporter has to obtain CT-1 certificates from excise office. The merchant exporter can obtain CT-1 forms in lot of 25. Part I of the form is certified by Superintendent of CE regarding bond executed. It is not necessary to obtain CT-1 for each consignment separately. CT-1 form in lot of 25 should be issued to merchant exporter covering period of one to three months, depending on his track record. The merchant exporter shall send CT-1 form to the manufacturer from whom goods are to be procured for export without payment of excise duty. Before sending CT-1 the merchant exporter should debit estimated amount of duty liability. this amount is required to be specified in part II form CT-1. On the basis of this CT-1, the manufacturer can clear goods for export without payment of duty by making suitable entries in part II of CT-1.
