Dear Sir/Madam, Our company (software company) hired a Cab for Transportation of employees. Cab service provider (Partnership firm) charging Service tax @ 5.8% On Invoice value (Abated Value) can i take input credit of that service tax if yes please provide the Accounting entry. Inv Value = 27000 Service Tax @ 5.8%=1566 Total = 28566

Cenvat credit against the same is not available to you. It is available only to those who is in same line of business & avails such input services to provide similar / taxable output service.
