Relating to nri salary (Income Tax)

a person who is NRI , he earned & received salary rs.1000000 in foreign last year and also paid tax on it in foreign .now he transferred that amount in its Indian Bank a/c.plz tell in which section that amount is exempt.

Section 9 provides that in relation to a non-resident only the income earned by him in India shall be taxable.

Since this income has not been earned in India, it is not taxable.

Repatriation of income earned abroad is not 'earning'.
