13 October 2010 Hi,

I want to start a proprietorship organisation. I went through some sites and it says we just need to open a bank account. I want to register the name to ensure it remains when I convert it to a company later on or it should not be similar to another organisation.
How can I know if the name is available?

Kindly guide me on the same.

13 October 2010 Hi,

You can prepare a deed agreement mentioning your details like name, address, place, type of business, name of business, propretor's capital etc and get it registered in sub register office on a Rs. 100 bond paper. You need to have proper witness signed on it and also a notary attestation on the paper.

Even though it is not mandatory to do this, since you are planning for a future expansion it may help you. Also, this will no way have importance when you are forming a new private company or partnership firm because registration needs to done according to either partnership act of company act.

regards,
kaushik

13 October 2010 Agreed as above.
I would like to add here that:
You should also get your firms name registered with registrar of firms, which are generally at district level.
