21 February 2013 I assume you are asking about the procedure to calculate HRA exemption.

Calculate the following -

1. 40% of basic salary and Dearness Allowance.
2. Rent Paid - 10% of Basic and DA
3. Actual HRA received.

Least of above is exempt.
