04 March 2015 My client had a surprise check from the EPF organisation officials and they found out that my clients company has two foreign nationals working with them. The pf deductions were made as per the income tax act even for those two foreign nationals but for those two employees ,the officials asked the company to deduct pf on gross pay and not on basic pay.

How far is it correct to deduct on gross pay and are there any provisions related to it?
