This query is : Resolved

14 December 2007 Dear Sir,

I am working in Accounts stream from past about Ten years with having qualification of B.Com., Iwant to get a professional degree also for better future. As It's well known to everybody that how much time can be spared with a job. Should I go for MBA thru distance learing or CFA please advise me for better prospects which course will be better.

Regards
Rishabh

14 December 2007 If you want to develop your career in Accounts and Audit then CA is better. Remember if you are spending time and money then justify it. I will advise you to prepare for CPT and clear it. Then you can plan on Articleship and PCC. I may sound different as I am not advising on the other courses. MBA is ideal from IIM. Other very few institutes are there which will help you. Most of the others are hoax.

15 December 2007 Thanks for this valuable advise, but in CA I feel insecured as some of my friends are qualified, they had spent 12to 16 hrs. a day for studies. How I will go through? and I don't have time to waste now, that's why Iwant to join a course which I can complete with job. Please don't get irritated and suggest.

15 December 2007 Dear Rishabh,
Then in that case if you join any course you need to study part time plus exams.
Also if you are doing anything half hearted it will not help you. I am sincerely advising you to go for CA because it has dignity. If you do MBA from local college then you will end up messing and wasting your money.
You know that Money does not grow on trees.
In CA it is misconception that you need to study 16 hours. In case you are regular then you need to study half that time at the end.
Anyway if you have made up your mind not to do CA then go for correspondence course from S P Jain, Symbiosis and NM College. It will help.
Good Luck.

19 December 2007 Respected Sir,
I enquired about CPT, last date of registration for Feb'08 is passed away. Now I can get the registration for May'08 but I am so hungry and don't want to say after Six Months that I am under preparing to get admission in CA. Should I go for LLB with spcialisation in Taxation or for CFA as the CFA is a short term course and affordable for me.

Please Help.

02 January 2008 Hi Rishabh,
I agree with Kapil to quite an extent. You being in Accounts fields since so long,CA is right thing for you.I feel that since you are in this field for years,CA wnt be as much tough for you as your concepts are already clear and CA is all about concepts.May be you just need to give time for theory subjects.
As affordable,CA is most affordable than any other courses. For LLB,as I know you need to attend college and for that you need to gve that specific time.As against CA,you can give time at your convenience. CFA,if your are talking about it from ICFAI,its not at all worth the trouble and money that goes in.
I,myself am a CA,still I am planning to study CIMA,UK.I feel studying is endless process, whatever you know is always less.Keep acquiring it.
Feel free to ask anything if you have any more question.

Regards
CA Rekha
