03 June 2012 The EPF Organization (PF Deptt) were earlier receiving the Monthly Returns physically and now it is mandatory to e-file. Employers are allowed to upload data to generate challan from first day of next month. If your data is for May then you will upload data on or after 1st June.
This procedure holds good if monthly frequencies of salaries is from 1st to last day of month.
Our case is different; monthly frequency of salaries is from 15th to 14th. Take example of May: Salaries for the period from 15April to 14th May has been termed May 2012. One employee left the job on 30.04.2012 that is during May.
While uploading the date to generate challan on 1st May the error response came that the date 30/04/2012 is wrong. Software read it for April so error resulted. The date 30/04/2012 was changed to 01/05/2012 and we got the challan.
Now the question is:
a. Would the software will allow customizing the frequency of month. If yes then how? Or
b. What is the best alternative so that we remain true and no need to change the date as it was changed from 30/04/2012 to 01/05/2012.
Please read the problem carefully and then post your reply.
Correct answer shall be appreciated.
Answers advising to: change monthly frequency and/or to contact PF office and not touching the problem exactly shall be ignored. So please excuse.

03 June 2012 In Pf the period of the wages / salaries is certain that is "For the Month".
In your case the period of wage is not as per the PF Act.
There is no facility in the software to allow you to include the salary of the month in part. Indeed there is no such need according to the scheme of EPF / EPS.
In that case you have to modify your data for the first month of efiling.
Just break data for the 15 to the end of the month and feed it in to the software and thereafter from 1st to end of the month.

04 June 2012 Thanks!

But sorry I have already made it clear not to suggest to change the frequency of the month. Your suggestion to break the data in two almost means to change frequency of month.
