it is compulsory to pay service tax online?

Service Tax Assessees who had paid Rs.1 Lac or above (Cash + Cenvat) duty payments in the preceding financial year e payment is compulsory w.e.f. 1st January, 2014. (Please refer Notification No.15/2013-CENT dt. 22-11-2013 & 16/2013-ST dt. 22-11-2013)

Yes ,compulsory w.e.f 1-10-2014. Every assessee shall electronically pay the service tax payable by him, through internet banking. See Notification No. 9/2014- Service Tax dated: 11.07.2014
