Numbering of board meeting resolutions - private company

Is it necessary to give numbers to Board resolutions passed in private company. If yes, why it is necessary?

Anil,
Law is silent regarding this numbering. However there is no harm in doing that as after numbering it would be difficult to manipulate the minutes of meeting.
Nowadays roc e-forms ask for the number of resolution so indirectly it has become necessary to number the resolutions.
