Ex. A dentist who is running his dispensary for last 10 years, has not paid professional tax for these years. However, He has filed his ITRs regularly.
I have following queries:
1) What are the consequences of such non-payment of PT?
2) If he wishes to pay the entire PT for last 10 years and of current year, then how much penalty / interest will be charged?
3) Whether can he claim this PT amount & interest / Penalty on his ITR for A.Y. 2012-13?
4) How can he pay this amount?

Kindly revert.

Mr Suraj,
There is no much difficulty in this matter. The department charges some penalty and interest on balance unpaid amount.Penalty and interest rtes differ in each state. Go to your concerned PTO office, get it calculated and pay at one stretch.
