Can anyone explain me the tax implications on the meal vouchers provided by the employer to his employees to what extent they are exempt in the hands of the employees and how many meals are free.

19 March 2011 Free meals provided by the employer during office hours at office or business premises up to Rs 50 per meal is exempt.

Free meals provided through paid vouchers which are not transferable and usable only at eating points up to Rs 50 per meal is exempt.
