27 August 2017 The following column is there in Schedule BP of ITR 4 (Sugam) for AY 17-18

(a) Through a/c payee cheque or a/c payee bank draft or bank electronic clearing system received before specified date - 6 %

An assessee receives most of his sales receipts in CASH and he deposits in the bank.

Will this come under 6% category as mentioned above?

Going logically by the wording of the clause, I think it will not.

Just need to confirm.

27 August 2017 No he will not get the above benefits. He has to fulfil section 44AD it should be digital receipt.

section 44AD of the Income-tax Act, in sub-section (1), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:—

‘Provided that this sub-section shall have effect as if for the words “eight per cent.”, the words “six per cent.” had been substituted, in respect of the amount of total turnover or gross receipts which is received by an account payee cheque or an account payee bank draft or use of electronic clearing system through a bank account during the previous year or before the due date specified in subsection (1) of section 139 in respect of that previous year.’.

27 August 2017 @Tax., Simply said your all receipts coming the way from bank receipts....

27 August 2017 @Tax.,  Simply said your all receipts coming the way from bank receipts. Then only you use that section. Other wise you can't..

28 August 2017 No, it will not help. Receipts should be from A/c payee cheque.

29 August 2017 Please make your concept very clear that all cash transactions will come under 8% and banking transactions in 6%
