01 September 2016 Thanks for you reply they have asked for following documents also pan card copy if available copy of land agreement details of account if available (she dont have any personal account, she is a joint account holder with me) do i need to furnish the details of account also? if i reply with a letter will that be enough? because i am living outside india and my wife is in india, she cannot go alone to it office. please advise

01 September 2016 this account i opened in my name in 2011 and later on i added my wife as joint account holder in 2015.

01 September 2016 Notice is in the name of wife. So let her go and submit the documents. Dont worry much about the notice.
Ignorance of LAW at times may prove to be beneficial. She can explain the same in her language.
