How to surrender service tax registration online (Service Tax)

As i have received an intimation from the service tax department to surrender my service tax registration through online. As i am running a works contract business and now it comes under the 17 negative list issued by the service tax department. kindly suggest me for how to surrender the service tax registration through online.

For surrender of ST Registration, please
visit http://www.aces.gov.in

Log on with ID & Password, then see "REG" tab, click on "SURRENDER" option. Fill the last column's in the displayed ST-2 and click submit.
Once online surrendering is done, take a print out and submit to jurisdictional
ST Range with Original ST-2 with a covering letter..

actually i am not having the Log in id and password, whether i need to register first inorder to submit my surrender form

Yes. Please meet your jurisdictional superintendent and give an application for userid and password. In turn, he/she will issue the same to your e-mail id given in the above said application.

thanks for your prompt reply sir, i have registered with the aces and got my user id and password. but options availabe in REG is Fill Non Assessee, Fill ST-1 and change password, Surrender option is not available. kindly suggest me.

The password received through e-mail has to be changed. Then log out and log on with the new password and go to REG.

yes, sir i done it. But REG does not showing the option of Surrender. In no place i provided my service tax registration number at the time of getting my user id and password, is this may the reason ?
