Exemption, numbers of attempts and merit list

This query is : Resolved

29 September 2011 Sir, i have some queries. FIrst, i came to know that an exempted student is not allowed to be included in merit list.

I want to know that if any one fails to clear exams in first or second attempt but he gets very good marks, that are sufficient to be in merit list, in 3rd attempt; would he be allowed to be in merit list? Or only students with first attempt are eligible for merit list?

If i go grouup by group but fail to clear and then i go for both groups in 3rd attempt then would i be eligible for merit?

Iv submitted my exam form. For first group (CA IPCC) but as i didnt know about merit list rules, so i was thinking just to try this attempt and not to pass the group. Then to attempt both groups in next attempt to try for a berth in merit list.

But now.. im confused.. What should i do? If i dont attend exams now...then would this attemt be counted? or not. I mean if i attemt one grp but dont pass then attempt both grp and get good marks...then i would be eligible gor merit or not. thnaks

25 May 2012 Any student who clears both the groups at a single sitting (that means together) is eligible for merit, irrespective of the number of attempts.
