31 March 2011 i wanna know the difference between deductor and person responsible for deduction of tax.

31 March 2011 Deductor is the TAN holder.
Person responsible for deduction of Tax is the person who is authorised to look after the TDS matter, like deduction & payment of TDS.

31 March 2011 Deductor is the TAN holder(individual, huf, firm, company, etc).

TAN holder authorise himself/his employee to look into the TDS matter. Person so authorise will be the person responsible for deduction of tax.
