E-file in response to notice u/s 148

09 February 2016 An assessee who has filed the return for AY 2009-10 has received notice u/s 148. After due deliberations with the assessing officer, the assessee was asked to file the return again for that same assessment year.

Can someone guide on how to proceed with this?

I have already prepared the return using the utility from the dept. website. How do I go about filing the return in the website. Should I select upload return and file as we normally do or is there any special option for that?

Also whether the return will be orignal u/s 148 or revised? The orignal return filed was belated.

10 February 2016 Select "14" - u/s 148 in the 'Return filed u/s" tab before generating the xml and upload the return on the website. Submit the Acknowledgment of the return in the office of the AO intimating the filing of the return u/s 148.
