Good evening, Any amount received by wife from her husband in cash as a compensation of getting divorce. The amount will be taxable or not? if so then under which section of Income tax act it will be taxable.
It is not taxable. . It doesn't fall under any of the heads of Income. . It can't be said as "source of Income" neither it can be said as "windfall." . At least some "happy" moments for her after the divorce. .
