18 July 2024 In Tally ERP 9, recording the entry when capital is brought in with another bank's cheque and deposited into the company's bank account involves a few steps to ensure accurate accounting. Here’s how you can do it:

### Step-by-Step Process in Tally ERP 9

1. **Create Bank Ledger (Company's Bank Account):**
- If you haven't already, create a bank ledger for your company's bank account in Tally ERP 9.
- Go to Gateway of Tally > Accounts Info > Ledgers > Create (Under Single Ledger).

2. **Create Capital Account Ledger:**
- Create a ledger under the appropriate group (such as Capital Accounts) to record the capital brought in by the partner.
- Go to Gateway of Tally > Accounts Info > Ledgers > Create (Under Single Ledger).

3. **Record the Bank Deposit:**
- Go to Gateway of Tally > Accounting Vouchers > F4 (Contra) to record the bank deposit transaction.
- Debit the Bank Account:
- Select the bank account ledger in the Debit section.
- Enter the amount deposited (considering the cheque amount).
- Credit the Capital Account:
- Select the capital account ledger in the Credit section.
- Enter the same amount as debited to the bank account.
- Enter Narration if required.

4. **Include Additional Details (if applicable):**
- If the cheque is from another bank, you might need to specify this in the narration or the voucher to clarify the source of funds.

5. **Save the Voucher:**
- Verify the details entered are correct.
- Press Enter to save the contra voucher.

### Example Illustration:

Assume:
- Bank Account: ABC Bank (Current Account)
- Capital Account: Mr. X (Partner)
- Amount deposited: Rs. 50,000 (via another bank's cheque)

**Voucher Entry in Tally ERP 9:**

```
Contra Voucher
-------------------------------------------
Date: [Date of Transaction] Voucher No: [Auto-generated]
Particulars Debit Credit
--------------------------------------------------
ABC Bank (Current Account) 50,000.00
Mr. X (Partner) 50,000.00
Narration:
Cheque from XYZ Bank deposited into ABC Bank as capital brought in by Mr. X.
--------------------------------------------------
```

### Important Points to Note:

- Ensure to reconcile the bank statement with Tally entries periodically.
- Keep documentation of the cheque deposit for audit and compliance purposes.
- Use appropriate narration to describe the transaction clearly.

By following these steps, you can accurately record the entry when capital is brought in using another bank's cheque and deposited into the company's bank account in Tally ERP 9. Adjust the amounts and ledgers based on your specific transaction details.
