Bcom through distance education v/s regular course

24 October 2014 I completed 1st year of articleship. I want to do BCOM through distance education from Andhra university. Is it worth doing BCOM through distance education? My principal is not permitting for regular course. Does distance course have equal value as regular course while applying jobs?

I want to do BCOM to have graduate degree so that it can be useful for applying jobs in banking sector. Please help me

25 October 2014 Legally you are not permitted to pursue any regular course along with CA.
Once you complete CA ,b.com degree will hardly matter.
For correspondence you can opt for any university.

25 October 2014 But institute gave permission for regular course know madam,if our office timings does not clash with college timings. It has also been mentioned in the prospectus for articles registration.

I want to have basic graduate degree,since C.A Is professional degree. Does distance degree have equal worth as regular one? Please help me

Yes I know you can pursue a course which doesn't impact your articleship but as per ICAI office timings are 9 to 5 or 6pm and no college will provide you any course after or before that..
But yes ! if you can check out evening colleges it will solve your purpose..like in delhi University they offer b.com etc in evening classes whose timings are after 4 or 5pm..so similar universities must be there also.
No! distance course won't give you same value as regular one.

25 October 2014 See!if you want to pursue regular course from security point of view then its better to do regular b.com along with IPCC.Though there will be delay in completing CA then but you will get a regular degree

26 October 2014 I completed ipcc and first year of articles. For getting job in India, CA with distance BCOM is sufficient mam?

26 October 2014 Yes! that's sufficient.
See ,if you really want an excellent package then you will have to do CA differently i.e. you have to prove yourself different from others.
Firstly,Make a target of completing CA in first attempt.If you find it very hard alltogether then appear group wise but do not fill exam form until n unless you are very sure else your attempt will be counted.Companies offer very attractive package to one who complete CA within 2( maximum ) attempts.
Secondly,like you other say 5000 people must be doing articleship.So try to gain some additional knowledge which will really help you to prove yourself different from others..like you can do financial modelling course,learn SAP/oracle,Certificate course in IFRS/Ind AS.Watch icaitv.com there numerous good videos.
Pay special attention to your communication and presentation skills.Participate in Regional and National competitions of ICAI for excellent ECA record.Also particpate in study tours of ICAI.
Don't worry about b.com just focus on how you complete CA in minimum time.
