Generally, there are two things involved. First, Audit plan and the second, Audit programme. Audit plan is an overview of the Company and contains materiality level and a part of compliance testing in order to enable the auditor to decide the amount of reliance, he /she can put on the internal controls of the Company, which goes a long way to reduce the amount of substantive testing to be done by the auditor. Secondly, audit programme contains the substantive testing to be performed by the auditor, which is based on the audit plan of the Company.
